Black & Decker® New Steam-Mop SmartSelect™ Technology provides a deep down clean on all sealed hard floor surfaces
SmartSelect Technology helps you clean and choose select floor type
Richmond Hill, On. (EMBARGO – June 16, 2011) – Move over mop and bucket, Black & Decker® introduces the intuitive Steam-Mop with SmartSelect™ Technology. With SmartSelect Technology, simply turn the dial to the specific floor type – hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, stone, or marble – and the mop automatically releases the right amount of steam. SmartSelect helps to assure a thorough yet delicate cleaning on all sealed hard floors and is even safe on hardwoods.
In cleaning with steam, users do not need to rely on harsh chemicals for a deep down clean. Simply use regular tap water to wipe out 99.9% of germs, dust mites and bacteria to achieve a clean home the all-natural way. Parents of kids and pets alike will enjoy this quick and easy way of attaining a refreshing, thorough clean.
Only the Black & Decker Steam-Mop has SmartSelect Technology. Black & Decker engineers conducted extensive testing on various floor types to determine the optimum steam output for each floor type. Whether the desire is to remove stuck on stains from tile floors or delicately clean hardwoods, the innovative SmartSelect dial provides the right amount of steam for the floor type. Users can achieve a deep down clean without worrying about whether the Steam-Mop is safe on their floors.
The Steam-Mop is ready quickly with its speedy fifteen-second heat-up time. A ready-to-go tank illumination changes from red to blue so users know when the water reaches the correct temperature. With swivel steering, users can easily maneuver around furniture and into corners, and the Black & Decker Steam-Mop automatically shuts off the steam when parked upright for those quick pauses during cleaning.
Additionally, the Steam-Mop boasts a handful of convenience features such as hands-free pad removal for easy release by simply stepping on the pad, an attached lid and cup to help avoid misplacing loose items, and a tank that holds enough water for over twenty-five minutes of uninterrupted cleaning.
“In developing the Steam-Mop, we identified typical user frustrations with hard floor cleaning– like safe cleaning concerns on hardwood, messiness, time-intensive cleaning and concern of chemicals – and designed a solution for each,” said Richard Kroes, group product manager at Black & Decker. “Our customers are going to see a significant difference using a Black & Decker Steam-Mop over traditional cleaning methods.”
The Black & Decker Steam-Mop will be available July 2011. It will come with two reusable, machine washable, microfiber pads, and a two-year warranty.
