Your home. Your community.

Your Home. Your CommunityYou have plans for a new home, you can visualize what you want to include, but do you know where you want to build? This is often as difficult a decision as choosing the right builder to build your home.

The idea of moving into a community comes with decisions such as identifying what amenities and features are important to you and your family, now and in the future.

You will want to consider the following questions to help narrow down your search: Is it important to have schools located nearby? Are shopping facilities, recreation facilities and hospitals important features that you want to know are close to your home? Are green spaces, playgrounds or even walking trails important? Do you want to have easy access to local transit?

Or maybe, you don’t want to compromise on any of these features and want to find a community that has all of these options within close proximity.

“Communities will offer a different variety of features to meet your family’s needs,” says Stephanie Palmer, director of sales and marketing for Armco Communities. “You want to make sure the community you choose to live in is able to meet your changing needs and adapt and grow with your family.”

Many families like to live in the same community for most of their lives, whether it be the first rental unit they move into, through to the home they choose to spend their retirement years in. If this sounds appealing, you will want to make sure that you do the appropriate research before you make your final decision.

Peter Greenwood, vice president of real estate sales for Clayton Developments, says that there have been a variety of changes in the communities they have built over the last 52 years, with much of the change driven by demographics. He adds that as a developer of communities, you need to be able to adapt to meet theses changes and provide amenities that make people’s lives easier.

Choosing the right community, the right home design and the right builder all help to add up to a great experience for you and your family. Take the time to make your decision on where you want to build your home and you will be happy in the end that you did.

When it comes to choosing where to live, you need to identify what amenities are most important to your lifestyle and what amenities you want nearby to add to the quality of your family’s lives.
