DEWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, recently unveiled a new line of Sub Compact LITHIUM ION products. These tools are engineered from the ground up based on insights and feedback from contractors, resulting in significant performance, durability, run time and ergonomic enhancements.
“Sometimes, a seemingly minor aspect of a tool is of huge importance to the pros. Our 12V MAX* tools were designed so that they would remain standing when set down on a level surface. It doesn’t seem like much, but the feedback from our end users has been extremely positive. Not being able to stand tools up when not in use was definitely a frustration on the job site,” explains DEWALT product manager, Marlon Thompson.
“Other features to the tools that professionals have given their approval include, the contoured handle design and ergonomics.”
PERFORMANCE AND RUNTIME:
The new 12V MAX* Sub Compact drills and impact drivers have a high-power, high-efficiency frameless motor that delivers increased performance for drilling and fastening applications.
In order to meet the jobsite demands of end users, DEWALT designed the drills with an all-steel transmission. The tools have a metal gear case allowing the transmission to dissipate heat and run cooler. Additionally, a steel lockout feature positively locks the tool in drill mode. The frameless motor produces increased airflow through the tool allowing the unit to function more efficiently. The motor also contains replaceable brushes for easy serviceability.
The new drill/drivers offer a best-in-class length and a smaller footprint for increased balance and control. The handles of the drills are improved for better gripping and increased user comfort. A bright LED work light provides visibility in dimly lit areas.
LITHIUM ION BATTERY CHEMISTRY:
The Sub Compact LITHIUM ION family features a battery designed with LITHIUM ION cells, providing users with increased battery durability and cycle life for up to 1,000 recharges.
